British Authority: Incident Involving a Vessel in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said it had received a report of an incident involving a vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The authority said that authorities informed it that a tanker was inbound while transiting the strait and was struck by an unknown projectile.

It added that two crew members sustained minor injuries, while reports indicated that the vessel was continuing under its own power to its next port of call.

The authority noted that there were currently no reports of any environmental impact resulting from the incident, confirming that authorities were investigating the incident.

Vessels were advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations.
