Trump: “The Ridiculous War” Between Russia and Ukraine Must End

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that “this ridiculous, never-ending war with Ukraine must end.”

Trump added that Russia has lost control of its diesel fuel industry because of its war with Ukraine, noting that a large number of Russian diesel refineries have been destroyed and are out of service, at least temporarily.

The US president said that “the entire world is suffering because of the Russia-Ukraine war.”

Earlier on Monday, a senior official said that Trump had pressed his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a phone call on Sunday to halt Kyiv’s strikes on Russian refineries, due to concerns that the attacks were exacerbating the global diesel shortage and driving up prices.
