11 Killed in Israeli Nighttime Airstrikes on Kfar Rumman in Southern Lebanon

Al-Taj News – Eleven people, including two infants, were killed in Israeli nighttime airstrikes on the town of Kfar Rumman in southern Lebanon, the official National News Agency reported on Monday, a day after widespread airstrikes killed 7 people.

Nine people were killed in an airstrike on a 3-story residential building in Kfar Rumman, while two members of ambulance teams were also killed in a drone strike on a car in the town, according to the agency.

The Israeli occupation army ordered residents of the town of Deir al-Zahrani in southern Lebanon to evacuate buildings adjacent to what it said was a facility belonging to Hezbollah, ahead of launching airstrikes on them.

The army said it was carrying out the strikes in response to Hezbollah launching two drones at its soldiers in the “security zone” it maintains in southern Lebanon, considering this a violation of the ceasefire.

The war in the Middle East spread to Lebanon as of March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel in response to the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the Iran war on February 28.

Israeli strikes since October 2, 2023, have killed more than 8,920 people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
