Trump Puts Carney in an Embarrassing Position with Cartoon Image: “Get Up, Governor!”

Al-Taj News – US President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, describing him as a governor, in a reference to his repeated calls for Canada to become a US state.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump shared a cartoon image of the two playing hockey, showing Trump wearing a United States national team jersey and standing over Carney, who is lying on the ice wearing a Canada national team sweater, with a message directed at Carney: “Get up, Governor.”

The post came hours after Trump said that the exchange rate of the Canadian dollar against the US dollar was “unacceptable” and that it “has been that way for years,” without specifying the measures he intends to take.

Carney had not responded by Sunday evening, despite the posts coming days before Canadian tariffs are set to take effect on Tuesday, targeting $28 billion worth of US goods, in response to the 50% US tariffs imposed by Washington on Canada last August, following the collapse of trade talks between the two countries.
