Al-Taj News – Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi said on Monday that the Houthis chose the path of escalation and rejected all peace initiatives, and therefore they will bear responsibility for the consequences of their adventures.
He affirmed that the Yemeni armed forces will continue to fulfill their constitutional duty until state institutions are restored and their authority is extended across the entire country.
Al-Alimi added that the Yemeni armed forces had demonstrated their ability to deter and regain the initiative, saying that the Houthis’ rejection of international legitimacy resolutions would not give them the right to impose a fait accompli on Yemenis, obstruct efforts to restore national institutions, or turn Yemen into a platform for threatening waterways and global trade supply chains.
UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg affirmed that the recent attacks launched by the “Ansar Allah” group (Houthis) on several fronts in Yemen had led to an escalation in the intensity of clashes, raising fears that the conflict could expand in scope. This is an extremely dangerous development.
