Araghchi: Washington Must Return to Its Commitments, and Iran Will Not Fulfill Its Obligations Before That

Al-Taj News – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a direct message to the United States, stressing that Tehran will not take any steps to fulfill its obligations before Washington returns to the commitments it signed.

Araghchi said: “The solution to the Islamabad understanding is simple: the United States must return to its signed commitments for Iran to fulfill its obligations, and we will not take any step before that,” in a position reflecting Tehran’s insistence on linking any future Iranian steps to Washington’s first commitment to what was agreed upon.

He added: “Iran is simultaneously continuing to expand its economic cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries,” noting that the organization’s countries remain strongly willing to engage in economic cooperation with Tehran despite U.S. pressure.
