King Participates in U.S.-Arab-Islamic Meeting on Sidelines of UN General Assembly
Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein is participating in a U.S.-Arab-Islamic meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed on Tuesday that the world is experiencing an exceptional moment in which crises and challenges are accelerating, stressing that what the international community chooses to prioritize determines the fate of conflicts and humanitarian crises, and warning that what we neglect today often shapes our future.
In a speech delivered during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, His Majesty said that the continuation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict without a solution for decades resulted from the international community’s choice to contain the conflict rather than address its resolution, stressing that what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank cannot be treated as separate events.
The King affirmed that what is happening in Gaza can no longer be regarded as “temporary military measures, or consequences of the war,” while the West Bank, according to His Majesty, is witnessing a fundamental transformation manifested in the expansion of settler violence, land seizures, settlement expansion, and the displacement of Palestinians, stressing that Gaza and the West Bank are “two sides of the same Israeli strategy.”
