King Meets Kuwait’s Crown Prince and Lebanese Prime Minister in New York

His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed today, Monday, the need to intensify joint Arab efforts to sustain de-escalation in the region in a manner that preserves the security and sovereignty of Arab countries.

This came during two separate meetings held by His Majesty on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, and Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

His Majesty conveyed his greetings to the Crown Prince of Kuwait to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait. Sheikh Sabah, in turn, conveyed to His Majesty the greetings of Sheikh Meshal and his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Jordan and its people.

His Majesty affirmed his condemnation of the Iranian attacks against the State of Kuwait and the Arab Gulf states, whose security constitutes a foundation for the security and stability of the region.

During his meeting with Dr. Salam, His Majesty stressed the need to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon and support the efforts of the Lebanese brothers to preserve the security, stability, and sovereignty of their country.

The meeting also addressed the outcomes of the recent “Aqaba Meetings” round held in Paris on ways to support the Lebanese Armed Forces, with Salam expressing his country’s appreciation for the continued support provided by Jordan.

The two meetings were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty the King, Engineer Alaa Al-Batayneh.
