Jordan and 7 Countries Condemn Israeli Statements Regarding the Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza
Al-Taj News – The foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt strongly condemned statements made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the ministers considered the plans and mechanisms outlined in the statements, aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from their land, to constitute a flagrant violation of the principles of international law, including international humanitarian law, and a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
The ministers firmly rejected and condemned any attempts or plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people, whether within or outside the occupied Palestinian territory, under any name or pretext.
They warned of the serious consequences of turning calls for forced displacement into an announced policy or practical measures aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their land, stressing that such measures represent a direct challenge to international efforts aimed at achieving peace.
The statement noted that these efforts include President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which includes an unequivocal rejection of forced displacement, warning that displacement plans carry grave risks that could undermine prospects for stability in the region.
The ministers stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory, affirming the need to preserve the unity of the Palestinian territory in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
They affirmed that the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace is the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
