Al-Taj News – Sony has revealed a new anti-harassment policy that could affect some of the company’s most outspoken critics, particularly those objecting to its decision to gradually end production of PS5 discs. The new policy covers behavior such as threats, insults, intimidation, defamation, discrimination, attacking employees, as well as “repeated or ongoing demands” and “requests unrelated to products or services.”
Sony warns that violations of these rules could result in restrictions or suspension of customer support services. It also indicates that it may cooperate with law enforcement authorities and take legal action, including criminal proceedings. The company has not yet clarified how the policy will be applied specifically to critics of its disc decision, raising questions about the extent to which it could be used against ongoing campaigns by some PS5 owners protesting the future of physical games.
