Government Allows Customs Clearance of Investors’ Vehicles Imported “Temporarily” and Exempts Them from Conformity Requirements

Al-Taj News – The government has allowed customs clearance of personal vehicles belonging to non-Jordanian investors who obtained Jordanian citizenship and brought them into the Kingdom under temporary admission permits and exemptions before October 4, 2026, exempting them from conformity assessment requirements, thereby allowing their customs status to be converted to “domestic consumption.”

The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization said that the decision to exempt vehicles belonging to investors who obtained Jordanian citizenship from conformity assessment requirements aims to avoid harming them, after their vehicles were brought into the Kingdom legally under temporary admission permits and exemptions.

The organization explained that the decision was issued by the Council of Ministers, based on recommendations from the Ministry of Investment, the Customs Department, and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, and covers investors who had previously obtained temporary admission permits and exemptions to bring in and use their vehicles.
