Al-Taj News – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on those wishing to bring about change in Cuba to cooperate with the US Central Intelligence Agency, at a time when President Donald Trump announced that Washington will deal with the Cuban file after finishing dealing with Iran.
Speaking during an election rally in Florida, Trump said the United States would take care of Cuba on its way back from Iran, adding that it would send Rubio to complete the “deal.”
For his part, Rubio said on Friday that the time is right for those seeking to make positive change in Cuba, urging those disappointed with the Cuban government to seize the opportunity to bring about the change they want, through what he described as a “covert partnership” with the US Central Intelligence Agency, without providing further details.
Trump had predicted last month that an agreement would be reached between the United States and Cuba, expressing his belief that resorting to military action would not be necessary. His administration had also previously announced that its goal is to change the communist government on the island.
