Saudi Arabia Affirms the Need to Uphold the Principles of Respect for Sovereignty and Resolving Disputes Through Peaceful Means

Al-Taj News – The Saudi Cabinet discussed, during a session held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the latest developments in the region, in addition to a number of other issues.

In a statement issued following the session, the Cabinet affirmed “the need to uphold the principles of international law that stipulate respect for sovereignty, the resolution of disputes through peaceful means, and ensuring the safety of navigation in international waterways; in a manner that preserves the security of states, fulfills the aspirations of their peoples, and contributes to protecting the movement of international trade and supply chains.”

According to the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman commended “the role of the military and security sectors and their brave personnel in defending the homeland and firmly confronting any attack on the holy sites, pilgrims, citizens, and residents on the Kingdom’s soil,” and also expressed condemnation of “the attempt by the terrorist Houthi militia to repeat its targeting of Mecca, which has drawn international condemnation and denunciation.”

Among the other issues addressed by the Cabinet were the results of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Egypt, which affirmed “the strength of the fraternal relations between the two countries and the shared desire to enhance their bilateral cooperation in all fields.”
