Trump Thanks Jordan for Contributing to Stabilizing Gaza

Al-Taj News – U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday expressed his thanks to Jordan and a number of countries for contributing to stabilizing Gaza through the training of police forces.

He made the remarks during a speech before the United Nations General Assembly.

Trump said that the war in Gaza had been raging a year ago and that the hostages were still being held by Hamas, adding that the United States had taken steps that, he said, led to a change in the course of the crisis.

He said the war in Gaza ended weeks later, according to him, and that “thousands of lives” were saved, adding that all the hostages, both living and dead, had returned.

Trump expressed his thanks to the United Nations Security Council for unanimously adopting, according to him, the 20-point peace plan for Gaza and officially approving the establishment of the “Board of Peace.”

He said that 30 countries had joined the Board of Peace, which he said he chairs, pointing to financial contributions made by several countries for the reconstruction of Gaza, including Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.

Trump said that since taking office, he had overseen the settlement of eight wars, pointing to conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, India and Pakistan, and Armenia and Azerbaijan, in addition to the war in Gaza.
