King: Jordan Is True to Its Principles and Will Protect Its Security, Water, and People’s Interests

Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed that any threat to Jordan’s northern borders or water security constitutes a threat to the Kingdom’s national security, stressing that Jordan will protect its security, water, and people’s interests.

In an address before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, His Majesty said: “As for Jordan, the matter is as clear as day: Any threat to our northern borders or our water security is a threat to our national security. Jordan will not look the other way; we will protect our security, our water, and the interests of our people.”

His Majesty noted that Jordan continues to build a model based on values and principles and characterized by openness and steadfastness, at a time when political calculations are changing and crises are unfolding across the region and the world.

His Majesty said that Jordan is “a country the world can rely on: true to its principles, committed to its positions, ready for dialogue with everyone, and ready to work with anyone who seeks peace.”

The King stressed that Jordan’s commitment to diplomacy does not supersede its commitment to humanitarian values, affirming that this approach should not be taken for granted or “misjudged as weakness.”
