Al-Taj News – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and British Foreign Secretary and Development Minister Ed Miliband affirmed Sunday their continued efforts to strengthen the longstanding partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom and deepen coordination in efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
Safadi and Miliband discussed, in a phone call, ways to expand cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields.
The two ministers also discussed regional developments and affirmed their support for efforts aimed at ending the dangerous escalation taking place in the region.
Safadi and Miliband affirmed the continuation of cooperation and coordination in efforts to consolidate stability in Gaza and deliver sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to the Strip. They also discussed the dangerous deterioration in the occupied West Bank, where Safadi warned of the consequences of Israel’s continued illegal escalatory measures, which are pushing the West Bank toward an explosion and fueling conflict in the region.
Safadi praised Britain’s positions in support of the two-state solution as a means of achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability for all parties. Safadi also congratulated Miliband on assuming the position of Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom.
They affirmed their intention to work on developing bilateral cooperation and consolidating security and stability in the region.
