Al-Taj News – The commander of Internal Security in Idlib province, Brigadier General Ghassan Bakir, said that Internal Security forces, in cooperation with the Counterterrorism Department, arrested members of a second security cell directly linked to a network of agents of the former regime, as part of ongoing investigations and security monitoring of the case.
Bakir explained, according to the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), that the cell members were arrested following careful security surveillance and monitoring operations, noting that investigations are ongoing to uncover details of the cell’s activities and its connections.
He added that the relevant authorities are completing legal procedures against those detained in preparation for referring them to the competent judiciary.
Internal Security forces had arrested members of a network on June 15, which Syrian authorities said was linked to the former regime.
