Al-Fuheis Festival Concludes Its 33rd Edition
Al-Taj News – The Al-Fuheis Festival: Jordan – History and Civilization concluded its 33rd edition on Monday, following six days packed with artistic, cultural, and heritage events that attracted a wide audience from various governorates across the Kingdom, alongside official, media, and artistic attendance.
The festival’s Executive Director, Ayman Samawi, said that the success of the current edition confirms that Jordan is a home of joy and life, praising the audience’s engagement as well as the support from sponsors and media outlets for the festival’s various events.
He said the festival will continue its presence under its enduring slogan, “Jordan – History and Civilization,” maintaining its role in highlighting Jordanian culture, thought, and heritage, and shedding light on the achievements of national figures.
The edition featured a diverse program combining musical concerts, cultural seminars and discussions, heritage and folkloric events, and children’s programs, in addition to honoring a number of Jordanian figures and commemorating their careers and contributions.
The cultural program concluded with a seminar honoring the late Mazen Al-Saket as the festival’s featured figure, with the participation of a number of political and national figures and members of his family, who recalled his national career and positions in public service.
On the artistic stage, the evening concerts concluded with a public performance by artists Sobhi Tawfiq and Firas Tuaima, amid a large audience and enthusiastic interaction with the tarab and folkloric songs.
The children’s program also concluded with traditional dabkeh performances by children from the Zaha Cultural Center, in a scene that reflected the presence of heritage throughout the festival’s activities.
The curtain fell on the 33rd edition with the extinguishing of the festival’s flame, amid confirmation that the festival will continue as an annual event bringing together art, culture, and heritage while presenting an image of Jordan’s civilizational identity.
