
Al-Taj News – The Council of Ministers approved the Administrative Organization System for the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority for the year 2026. The system comes within the framework of developing the organizational and administrative procedures of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, in a manner that enhances institutional performance efficiency, consolidates the principles of governance, transparency and accountability, and ensures the optimal use of human, financial and technical resources through the distribution of tasks and powers in a way that achieves efficiency and effectiveness.
The system is expected to develop, modernize and increase administrative effectiveness in serving the city of Petra, as it is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom and the world, and one of the World Heritage Sites inscribed on the UNESCO list. It also represents a major contributor to the national economy and an important source for attracting visitors and investments, which requires a modern and flexible administrative system capable of keeping pace with the requirements of sustainable tourism development and enhancing the quality of services provided to visitors.
The system is expected to contribute to enhancing coordination and integration among the various organizational units within the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, thereby increasing the efficiency of institutional work, improving the level of services provided, and enhancing Petra’s competitiveness as a global tourist destination.
