Manchester City Thrash Sunderland 5-3 to Retain Top Spot

Al-Taj News – Ghanaian Antoine Semenyo helped Manchester City maintain their perfect start to the English Premier League season after an exciting 5-3 victory over visitors Sunderland in the fifth round of the competition.

At Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, the match was highly entertaining, with the score changing repeatedly. Argentine Enzo Fernández opened the scoring for Manchester City in the ninth minute, before Dutchman Brian Brobbey quickly equalized for Sunderland in the 12th minute.

Frenchman Rayan Cherki restored City’s lead with the second goal in the 29th minute, but Brobbey found the net again to level the score for the visitors in the 33rd minute.

After setting up Cherki’s goal, Semenyo continued his exceptional performance by scoring Manchester City’s third and fourth goals in the 43rd and 57th minutes.

Although the match came alive again when Brobbey completed his personal hat-trick for Sunderland in the 59th minute, Norwegian star Erling Haaland settled the match for good by scoring City’s fifth goal in the 82nd minute.
