Qatari Liquefied Natural Gas Tanker Subjected to an Attack in Gulf Waters

Al-Taj News – A Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker was subjected to an attack by unidentified objects in Gulf waters on Friday evening, official media reported Sunday, noting that there were no injuries among its crew members and no leak occurred.

The Qatar News Agency (QNA) cited a statement by the Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat), the vessel’s operator, stating that “the LNG tanker ‘Al Mayeda’ was subjected to an attack by unidentified objects while sailing in the Gulf last Friday evening.”

The company confirmed in its statement that “none of the crew members aboard the ship were injured, nor did the incident result in any impact on the environment.”
