Iran Signals It Will Respond If Nuclear Resolution Is Issued Against It

Al-Taj News – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said on Monday that his country would respond if the International Atomic Energy Agency adopted a resolution against it.

Baghaei added during a press conference that it was “illogical” for European countries to seek the adoption of a United Nations resolution against Iran, given that the war with the United States had made access to nuclear facilities difficult.

He explained that “the Strait of Hormuz was fully open until February 28, when the United States launched an attack on Iran. Washington launched an illegal and brutal war in the region, which disrupted normal commercial shipping; oil tankers stopped, trade was disrupted, and energy prices began to rise.”

Hassan Qashqai, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that countries imposing sanctions on Iran would not be allowed, under a decision by the committee, to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry indicated that the region is experiencing a turbulent situation, accusing the United States of continuing its war on Iran in various forms, including economic warfare and a naval blockade, stressing that US attacks constitute a violation of the country’s sovereignty, the UN Charter, and international law.
