Al-Taj News – Egyptian authorities have begun procedures to pay 100,000 Egyptian pounds in compensation to the family of each person who died in the bus rollover accident on the Dahab–Nuweiba road in South Sinai Governorate, equivalent to around 1,392 Jordanian dinars and 1,962 US dollars.
The accident, which occurred three days ago, resulted in the deaths of 22 people and injuries to others, including 11 Jordanians among those who died.
The accident occurred after a bus traveling from Cairo and carrying Egyptians and Jordanians overturned.
The Egyptian Compulsory Motor Insurance Pool announced that it had begun procedures for disbursing the compensation after the necessary documents were completed and the investigation and legal registration and classification procedures for the accident were concluded.
It explained that compensation for those injured is determined according to the percentage of disability established by the medical commission, while coordination is underway with the Jordan Insurance Federation to complete compensation procedures for Jordanian citizens affected by the accident.
