Al-Taj News – His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal emphasized the importance of adopting a comprehensive human vision to promote peace and stability in the Mediterranean region, based on respect for human dignity and rights, and consolidating justice and cooperation among peoples, stressing that true security is not limited to border protection and maintaining military balances, but rather begins with ensuring a decent life for human beings.
This came during the keynote address delivered by His Highness titled “The Mediterranean: A Sea for Peace,” at the proceedings of the second session of the Euro-Middle East and North Africa Dialogue, organized by the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), in cooperation with the Euro-Mediterranean Initiative for Democracy and Development, on Thursday in Amman, with the participation of a number of diplomats, experts, and representatives of international institutions and civil society organizations.
His Highness pointed out that Europe and the Middle East and North Africa region face accelerating political, economic, and demographic challenges and transformations that require strengthening their partnership based on shared responsibility and active participation, stressing the necessity of placing human beings at the center of regional and international policies, and empowering youth to contribute to shaping the future of their societies.
His Highness recalled his initiative aimed at establishing a new international humanitarian order, which he presented before the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, confirming that the success of the international community is not measured solely by its ability to respond to crises, but also by its ability to prevent their occurrence and address their root causes.
