Al Safadi Conveys King’s Greetings to Syrian President

Al-Taj News – Syrian President Ahmad Al Sharaa received Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Wednesday at the People’s Palace in Damascus, in the presence of Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al Shaibani.

Safadi conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II’s greetings to Al Sharaa, as well as His Majesty’s affirmation of the Kingdom’s support for Syria and its commitment to strengthening the historic fraternal relationship between the two countries.

The Syrian president conveyed his greetings to His Majesty the King and affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and the keenness to strengthen them through broader cooperation in various fields, in a manner that serves the two peoples and countries.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and regional developments.

Safadi and Al Shaibani held expanded talks, during which they affirmed their keenness to build on the continued development witnessed in Jordanian-Syrian relations, continue efforts to develop them into a comprehensive strategic partnership, and enhance operational and institutional cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

The two ministers discussed preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council, scheduled to be held in Damascus in October this year, as well as following up on the implementation of the outcomes of the second session, held in Amman last April, and translating the agreements reached into operational steps, particularly in the sectors of trade, investment, transport, customs, water, energy, and other priority sectors, in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.

Safadi affirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast position in supporting brotherly Syria in its reconstruction process on foundations that guarantee its unity, sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens, while preserving the rights of all Syrians. He stressed that Syria’s security and stability are a cornerstone of the security and stability of the region.

Safadi welcomed the announcement of the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and their integration into the Syrian military institutions, describing it as an important step toward strengthening the unity, security, and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic. He affirmed the Kingdom’s support for all efforts aimed at strengthening Syria’s unity and sovereignty and the cohesion of its institutions.
