Prime Minister Visits Tourism and Environmental Sites in Safawi and Azraq and Directs Their Development

Al-Taj News – Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan visited on Saturday the “Blessed Tree” area in Safawi and the Azraq Oasis Rehabilitation Project, and directed the launch of a project to develop tourism, environmental, and historical sites in the eastern part of the Kingdom, with the aim of strengthening their presence on the national tourism map.

The project comes as part of the government’s efforts to develop the national tourism product and maximize the benefit of the unique natural and environmental diversity, as well as the historical, archaeological, religious, and cultural assets that the Kingdom is rich in, in a manner that contributes to enriching tourists’ experiences, developing local communities, and strengthening the presence of the tourism sector on the national economy map and in the governorates.

The tourism site development project in eastern Jordan includes the Shaumari Wildlife Reserve, the Al-Dahek Nature Reserve in the northeastern Badia, Qasr Amra, Qasr Al-Harrana, Azraq Castle, in addition to the Azraq Wetland Nature Reserve, the Azraq Oasis Rehabilitation Project through the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, and the “Blessed Tree” area in Safawi.

The project aims to build an integrated tourist destination in eastern Jordan, connecting the oasis, natural and environmental reserves, desert castles, and historical, religious, and geological sites through new and integrated tourism routes and experiences.
