15.7 Thousand People Register to Donate Organs Through “Sanad” Within Two Days

Al-Taj News – The number of people registered to donate organs through the “Sanad” application reached around 15,700 during the first two days after the service was made available, according to Sanad Application Director Mohammad Al-Batikha.

Al-Batikha said that adding the organ donation service to the Sanad application led to a significant increase in the number of registrants, explaining that registration is completed by updating the application and accessing the donation icon on the home page.

He added that after accessing the service, users can view the religious ruling regarding organ donation and then confirm their phone number, after which their desire to donate appears in the digital family book for all family members.

He explained that the service currently allows citizens to register their desire to donate organs without specifying particular organs, noting that work is underway to add the option in the future for individuals to specify which organs they wish to donate in the event of their death.

Regarding the level of uptake of the service, Al-Batikha said that the number of registrants is continuously increasing, with the number rising every hour amid strong demand for the service.
