Army chief, US security coordinator discuss enhancing defence cooperation
AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Monday received US Security Coordinator Lt. Gen. Sean Salene and an accompanying delegation.
The two sides, in the presence of high ranking Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) officers, discussed aspects of enhancing cooperation and coordination, exploring ways to enhance defence and military ties alongside topics of mutual interest, according to a JAF statement.
Members of the US delegation commended Jordan’s efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah to promote regional security and stability.
The delegates highlighted the crucial role of JAF in confronting challenges and enhancing regional security, praising the existing level of cooperation between Jordan and the US.
