Al-Taj News – The Internal Security Forces in Syria announced the foiling of what they described as a “terrorist plot” targeting the Homs refinery, stating that a Hezbollah-affiliated cell was behind it.
The Internal Security Forces stated, in a statement published by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), that the General Intelligence Service, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, managed to thwart the plot, arrest the members of the involved cell, and seize explosive devices in their possession that were prepared to target the refinery.
These developments come amid escalating tension between the new Syrian government and Hezbollah, following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, as Damascus accused the party of transporting weapons inside Syrian territory, while the party has repeatedly denied allegations regarding the presence of its activity inside Syria.
