Al-Taj News – Eight current and former officials and informed sources said that US intelligence sharing with Congress and across the federal government regarding Iran and other global threats has slowed down, and in some cases temporarily halted, during the second term of US President Donald Trump.
Former officials and experts said this risks leaving policymakers with an incomplete picture of the threats facing the country, in a repetition of the intelligence community failures that were exposed after the Al-Qaeda attacks on September 11, 2001.
This slowdown comes at a time when the US administration is considering whether to resume strikes on Iran following the midterm elections taking place on Tuesday.
These problems emerged during Tulsi Gabbard’s tenure as Director of National Intelligence amid intense friction between her office and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
