Security Operation Targets an ISIS Cell in the Damascus Countryside

Al-Taj News – The Syrian Internal Security Forces carried out a security operation targeting a cell affiliated with ISIS in the town of Rankous in the western Damascus countryside.

The Syrian Internal Security Forces stated on Thursday that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the General Intelligence Service.

On the sixteenth of this month, the Syrian General Intelligence Service had foiled, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, a plan to target a police patrol in the Damascus Countryside Governorate, which a cell affiliated with ISIS was preparing to carry out.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the two individuals involved and the seizure of an explosive device prepared for detonation that was in their possession.
