Work: Wage Support for Workers in Ma’an Industrial City for 3 Years

Al-Taj News – Director of the Education, Vocational and Technical Training Activities Support Fund and Skills Development at the Ministry of Labour, Engineer Hadeel Al-Abdallat, said that investors in Ma’an Industrial City can apply for incentives to support workers’ wages for three years, approved by the Council of Ministers, through Ma’an Development Company, in accordance with the conditions and procedures approved for the productive branches mechanism.

Al-Abdallat explained that operational support for productive branches and industrial cities in the governorates of Karak, Tafilah and Ma’an aims to provide sustainable job opportunities for the people of these governorates, stimulate investment and expand economic activity there, in response to royal directives and in line with the Economic Modernization Vision, within an integrated system of incentives and investment benefits directed at these areas.

She noted that the productive branches support mechanism includes a package of incentives for establishments and workers, including support equivalent to half of the minimum wage for each eligible worker, in accordance with the approved mechanism, in addition to covering transportation allowances and Social Security subscriptions at a value of 25 dinars per month for each.

She added that existing projects can benefit from the incentives of the National Employment Programme, in accordance with its conditions, which enhances the sustainability of job opportunities and supports the expansion of employment.
