France Condemns Iran’s Decision to Close Its Language Center in Tehran

Al-Taj News – France on Sunday condemned the Iranian authorities’ decision to close its language center in Tehran, according to the French Foreign Ministry.

The French Foreign Ministry described the decision to close the center as “unjustified and unacceptable.”

The ministry confirmed that France will take appropriate measures in response to the closure, noting that it will summon the Iranian ambassador.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported on Sunday, citing the Tehran Prosecutor General’s Office, that Iranian authorities had closed a French-language teaching center affiliated with the French Embassy in Tehran pursuant to a judicial order.

The authorities said the center had operated for years under the guise of teaching a foreign language despite receiving repeated warnings that it needed to obtain a license, accusing it of engaging in activities against Iranian culture and national security, as well as facilitating the departure from the country of Iranians with expertise and skills.
