CENTCOM Reveals Oil Tanker Traffic Figures Through the Strait of Hormuz

Al-Taj News – Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), said on Saturday that the command supported the transport of more than one billion barrels of crude oil from Gulf states through the Strait of Hormuz over the past two months.

Cooper added that this achievement coincided with securing the passage of more than 2,000 commercial vessels through the strait by providing coordinated protection, noting that “momentum is building.”

He explained that the main transit routes through the strait are “free of mines,” and that thousands of vessels have passed through it, noting that more than one billion barrels of crude oil have been shipped from partner Gulf states through the Strait of Hormuz.

Cooper said that Iran “has not exported a single barrel thanks to our tight blockade.”

He added that Central Command continues to work “with full awareness and precise focus” in cooperation with its partners across various U.S. government agencies and its six Gulf Cooperation Council partners, as well as insurance and shipping companies, with the aim of increasing the volume of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that these efforts “are paying off.”

He said that the volume of crude oil, goods, and liquefied natural gas over the past two weeks reached higher levels than at any time during the previous six months.
