King and UAE President Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Partnership, and Key Regional Developments
Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held talks on Sunday at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
During the talks, the two leaders affirmed the depth of the longstanding fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in vital sectors, particularly economic, trade, and development sectors, within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between them.
The talks addressed the latest regional developments, with the two leaders exchanging views on developments in the region and affirming the continuation of coordination and consultation in support of efforts to consolidate security and stability and achieve peace.
Discussing the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, His Majesty warned of the danger of Israeli measures aimed at annexing land and expanding settlements in the West Bank, as well as violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The talks were attended by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty the King Alaa Al-Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Majed Al-Qatarneh.
Also attending from the Emirati side were His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and a number of senior officials.
His Majesty the King was received and bid farewell at Al Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, along with a number of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs and Emirati officials.
