Artistic Presence and Emotional Moments at the Funeral of Naglaa Fathi’s Daughter

Al-Taj News – The funeral of Yasmin Saif Abu Al-Naga, daughter of actress Naglaa Fathi, was held today, Monday, at Omar ibn Abdul Aziz Mosque in Heliopolis, Cairo, with her body laid to rest in the “Al-Naga” family cemetery behind the Girls’ College.

Actress Naglaa Fathi broke down in tears in grief over the loss of her daughter and appeared deeply affected, accompanied by her granddaughter, the deceased Yasmin’s daughter.

Retired actor Seif Abu Al-Naga took part in the funeral procession for his daughter Yasmin, despite his difficult health condition.

Director Khodr Mohamed Khodr, Yasmin Seif Allah Abu Al-Naga’s former husband, also bid farewell to his late ex-wife in an emotional scene that reflected the depth of grief that had engulfed the family and those close to them.

A number of artists attended the funeral, most notably actor Mahmoud Yassin, actress Basma, and musician Amr Selim, along with a group of friends and relatives who came to bid farewell to the deceased.

Engineer Seif Abu Al-Naga announced on Sunday the death of his daughter Yasmin, the daughter of actress Naglaa Fathi, following a sudden heart attack, through his personal account on the social media platform “Facebook.” He wrote: “My beloved daughter Yasmin Seif Allah Abu Al-Naga, the light of my eyes, has passed away to the mercy of God Almighty following a heart attack.”

Actress Naglaa Fathi had married engineer Seif Allah Abu Al-Naga in the mid-1970s, following her first marriage to Ahmed Khalil.

The marriage resulted in the birth of their only daughter, Yasmin, after which they separated.

Later, actress Naglaa Fathi married the late journalist and writer Hamdi Kandil in 1992, and their marriage continued until his death.

Actress Naglaa Fathi (Fatma Al-Zahraa) was born on December 21, 1951. Producer Adly Al-Mawlid discovered her by chance in Alexandria when she was 15 years old, marking the beginning of her artistic career with a role in the 1966 film “The Three Friends.” Artist Abdel Halim Hafez supported her and chose her stage name.

Producer Ramses Naguib cast Naglaa Fathi as the lead actress in the 1968 film “Afrah,” after which she went on to appear in dozens of films during the 1970s. She formed a prominent on-screen duo with actor Mahmoud Yassin in several films, including “The Great Loyalty” and “Shadows on the Other Side.”

Her artistic career includes notable films such as “Half an Hour of Marriage,” “A Student’s Romance,” “The Three Madmen,” “A Date with the Beloved,” “The Airport Beauty,” “Then the Sun Rises,” and “Passion and the Body,” in addition to her participation in the radio series “Please Don’t Understand Me Too Quickly” with actor Adel Imam.
