Al-Faisaly Crowned Jordanian Super Cup Champions After Deserved Victory Over Al-Hussein Irbid

Al-Taj News – Al-Faisaly were crowned champions of the Jordanian Super Cup for the 2026/2027 football season on Friday evening after defeating Al-Hussein Irbid 2-1 in the final, which was held at Amman International Stadium amid a large crowd.

Al-Faisaly ended the first half with a one-goal lead after Ahmad Al-Arsan opened the scoring in the 18th minute from a penalty, giving his team an early advantage in the final.

Al-Hussein came back in the second half and managed to equalize before Al-Faisaly regained their lead in the 85th minute through Anas Al-Awadat, who capitalized on a defensive error to put his team back in front.

Al-Faisaly maintained their lead in the final minutes to come away with a 2-1 victory and lift the Super Cup trophy, while Al-Hussein had to settle for the runners-up position.

Al-Faisaly had secured their place in the final after defeating Al-Wehdat 2-1, while Al-Hussein reached the final after their emphatic 5-0 victory over Al-Ramtha.

Al-Faisaly started the match with a lineup consisting of: Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Ihsan Haddad, Saeed Sambouri, Mohammad Haddad, Anas Badawi, Nour Al-Rawadeh, Ghaith Madahneh, Fadl Haikal, Anas Al-Awadat, Ahmad Al-Arsan, and Rizq Bani Hani.

Al-Hussein’s lineup, meanwhile, consisted of: Yazid Abu Laila, Abdullah Nseib, Salim Obeid, Ali Hajabli, Yousef Abu Al-Jazar, Mahmoud Shawkat, Yousef Qushi, Mahmoud Dheib, Mahmoud Al-Mardi, Aref Al-Haj, and Brian Riachos.

The match was officiated by referee Adham Al-Makhamreh, assisted by Mohammad Al-Bakkar and Saberine Al-Abbadi. Lebanese referee Wael Haidar served as the fourth official, while Hamza Abu Obeid was the reserve assistant referee. Egyptians Mohammad Al-Ghazi and Ahmad Tawfiq Talab were in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
