Al-Taj News – The United States imposed new Iran-related sanctions on an entity and an individual on Friday, after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatened days ago to take further measures amid the ongoing war.
A post on the U.S. Treasury Department’s website said the sanctions target an individual linked to Bank Melli Iran and an entity based in Hong Kong.
The U.S. Treasury Department is preparing to cut the UAE branches of Banque Misr off from the U.S. financial system.
The department also imposed restrictions on an Egyptian bank over its dealings with Iran.
