Yazeed Abu Laila: “I Have Never Said Sorry in My Life” .. I Will Not Retire

Al-Taj News – National team goalkeeper Yazeed Abu Laila sparked widespread reaction after refusing to issue a direct apology to the fans, stating: “I have never said sorry in my life,” and preferring to use the phrase “I apologize if I fell short,” stressing that a lack of success in the latest match does not mean he was at fault.

Abu Laila explained, during his appearance on a “podcast” with media personality Lotfi Al-Zoubi, that he carried out his tactical duties and followed the coaching staff’s instructions, citing his alertness in dealing with set pieces and his previous performances against teams such as Algeria and Argentina, to emphasize his taking responsibility on the pitch.

The “Al-Nashama” goalkeeper settled the debate over his international future, denying retirement rumors, saying that “the journey is still in its early stages,” stressing that his career and contributions with the national team cannot be reduced to the result of a single match in which he was simply unlucky.
