Jordan and Saudi Arabia Sign Amended Protocol for the Supreme Coordination Council

Al-Taj News – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held extensive talks today, Wednesday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, addressing regional developments and ways to strengthen the strategic fraternal relations between the two countries in various fields.

Al-Safadi affirmed Jordan’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting the attacks by the Houthi militia, and its full support for the Kingdom in all the steps it takes to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

Al-Safadi reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of the Houthi militia’s attacks on Saudi Arabia and its targeting of civilians and civilian and economic facilities, considering this a flagrant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and an infringement of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security, and stability.

The two sides discussed regional developments and the efforts being made to end the escalation and contain its regional and international repercussions, and to restore calm on foundations that ensure the achievement of lasting security and stability, respect for international law, good-neighborly relations, non-interference in the affairs of states, and freedom of navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.
