King’s Deputy, Crown Prince Directs Appropriate Measures to Ensure the Effectiveness of Supply Chains

Al-Taj News – Crown Prince Stresses the Need to Put Citizens’ Interests at the Forefront of Priorities

His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince and Deputy of His Majesty the King, on Wednesday chaired part of a Cabinet session to follow up on a number of files and issues related to vital sectors.

His Royal Highness called for accelerating efforts to address the economic repercussions of the escalation in the region, directing that supply chains be treated as a national priority and that the necessary measures be taken to maintain a strategic stockpile of essential materials and commodities.

The Crown Prince spoke about His Majesty King Abdullah II’s focus on opening political and economic horizons with various countries around the world, directing the government to follow up on these efforts, build on them, and prepare well-studied implementation plans linked to specific timelines. He stressed the need to put citizens’ interests at the forefront of priorities and improve their standard of living.

With regard to the tourism sector, His Royal Highness stressed the need to advance this sector, which is considered an important economic driver, by addressing challenges related to the management of tourist sites and diversifying target markets, in a manner that ensures the continuity of inbound tourism and improves the visitor experience.

Regarding the initiatives of the National Council for Future Technology, the Crown Prince highlighted the importance of continuing to develop successful experiences, such as the Digital Health Center, which provides telemedicine services, and the Sanad application, which has achieved clear progress in digital services for citizens.

His Royal Highness pointed to the need to improve data management in the government sector to benefit from artificial intelligence tools in analysis, extracting indicators, and making accurate decisions at the appropriate time.

At the beginning of his remarks, the Crown Prince had expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in the bus accident involving conscripts serving national service on the Desert Highway, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

His Royal Highness also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of members of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army and the security agencies in maintaining the security and safety of citizens.

For his part, Prime Minister Jafar Hassan expressed the government’s appreciation for the Crown Prince’s follow-up of projects and programmes being implemented across numerous sectors, affirming that the government would continue working to implement various key national projects included in the Economic Modernisation Vision across all its pillars.

Minister of Transport and Minister of Labour Nidal Al-Qatamin provided a briefing on the progress of the Aqaba Railway project and its integration with the Ma’an–Aqaba Developmental Inland Port, as well as transport and freight development projects.

Ministers of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah, and Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh provided briefings on the status of supply and procurement chains at the ports of Aqaba and the strategic stockpile of essential commodities and energy in light of the current regional circumstances.

Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin presented updates on the implementation of the national service programme, efforts to develop digital services, particularly the Sanad and Sanad for Business applications, in addition to tourism development and promotion projects.
