Senate president, Qatari ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday commended the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Qatar during a meeting with Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani.

The meeting, attended by Head of the Jordanian-Qatari Parliamentary Fraternity Committee Senator Khawla Armouti, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and discussing regional developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Fayez said that the relations, founded on mutual respect, continue to grow under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, serving the two countries’ shared interests and Arab causes.

He stressed the need for Arab countries to unite in addressing pressing regional crises, reiterating that the security of the Gulf states is integral to Jordan’s stability.

Fayez also said that Iranian attacks against Jordan and Gulf states constitute violations of international law and the UN Charter.

For his part, the ambassador expressed pride in the strong Jordanian-Qatari ties and reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Jordan across various fields.
