Trump: Diesel Shortage Is Due to What Is Happening Between Russia and Ukraine

Al-Taj News – US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the shortage of diesel fuel is caused by what is happening between Russia and Ukraine, not by what is happening in the Middle East, calling on his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to stop targeting diesel infrastructure in Russia.

Trump added, speaking to reporters during a visit to Ireland, that there are many targets that can be hit, but he must stop hitting diesel, noting that targeting diesel fuel and diesel facilities causes shortages.

He continued, “You have to stop disrupting Russia’s diesel fuel supplies.”

Russia had announced on August 31 that it was preparing for “intensive strikes” on “facilities in the energy sector” in Ukraine, amid an escalation in the two countries’ reciprocal strikes over the past months.

The Russian Defense Ministry said via the Telegram application that “the Russian Armed Forces have begun preparations for intensive strikes on energy sector facilities in Ukraine in response to the ongoing attacks by the Kyiv regime on civilian infrastructure and the Russian oil and energy sector.”
