Jordan and Syria Discuss Preparations for Third Session of Higher Coordination Council

Al-Taj News – Jordan and Syria discussed on Wednesday preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council, scheduled to be held in Damascus in October this year.

According to a joint Jordanian-Syrian statement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (Ayman Safadi) and Syrian Foreign Minister (Asaad Al-Shaibani) discussed preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council, scheduled to be held in Damascus in October this year, as well as following up on the implementation of the outcomes of the second session, which was held in Amman last April, and translating the agreements reached into practical steps, particularly in the sectors of trade, investment, transport, customs, water, energy, and other priority sectors, in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and their peoples.

(Safadi) and (Al-Shaibani) held expanded talks, during which they affirmed their keenness to build on the continuous development witnessed in Jordanian-Syrian relations, continue efforts to develop them into a comprehensive strategic partnership, and enhance practical and institutional cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

(Safadi) affirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast position in supporting Syria in the reconstruction process on foundations that ensure its unity, sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens, while safeguarding the rights of all Syrians. He stressed that Syria’s security and stability are a cornerstone of the security and stability of the region.

(Safadi) and (Al-Shaibani) agreed to maintain consultation and communication, and coordination between the relevant authorities in the two countries to follow up on cooperation tracks and implement the agreements reached, in a manner that strengthens fraternal relations and serves the interests of the two countries and their peoples.

Earlier, Syrian President (Ahmad Al-Sharaa) received, at the People’s Palace in Damascus, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (Ayman Safadi), in the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister and Minister of Expatriates (Asaad Al-Shaibani).
