
Al-Taj News – The value of industrial exports from Irbid Governorate rose during the first eight months of 2026 to approximately $833.4 million, compared with $780.4 million during the same period in 2025, achieving growth of 6.8% and an increase of more than $53 million, according to the Irbid Chamber of Industry.
The chamber said that August exports amounted to approximately $114.5 million, compared with $113.9 million during the same month last year, representing growth of 0.6% and an increase of approximately $634,000, reflecting the industrial sector’s ability to maintain high levels of export activity in the governorate despite the challenges and changes affecting global markets.
It added that the leather and garment industries sector maintained its lead in exports during August, with a value of approximately $101.8 million, while exports of food and agricultural industries rose by 16.8%, chemicals and cosmetics by 9.7%, plastics and rubber by 21.7%, and construction industries by 7.4%.
Exports of engineering, electrical, and information technology industries also recorded growth of 111.6%, while packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies industries achieved the highest growth rate at 821.9%. Meanwhile, exports of therapeutic industries and medical supplies declined by 12.3%.
The chamber indicated that the number of certificates of origin issued during August increased to 1,450 certificates, compared with 1,431 certificates during the same month last year, representing growth of 1.3%. Al-Hassan Industrial Estate continued to lead export locations, with a value of approximately $110.6 million, followed by Cyber City with approximately $3.36 million, and then the main office with approximately $557,500.
