Al-Taj News – Democrat Abdul El-Sayed won against Republican Mike Rogers in the US Senate race for the state of Michigan, commenting on his victory by saying: “We did what they said could not be done.”
El-Sayed said, in a post on the “X” platform, that he feels honored and privileged to head to the US Senate to serve the state of Michigan, adding that they did what they were told could not be done, and won together, and that the real work begins now.
During a press conference, El-Sayed said they wanted America to be too small to accommodate some of them, but they know it is big enough for everyone, adding that the bad guys lost.
El-Sayed directed his remarks to US Vice President JD Vance, saying there is a delicious irony in that he is constitutionally obligated to swear him in in January. He also addressed President Donald Trump, saying he knows he had difficulty pronouncing his name, and therefore, after Vance swears him in in January, he can simply go ahead and call him “Senator.”
