Al-Taj News – US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran wants to reach a deal ending the American war against Tehran, pointing out that concluding an agreement of this kind “could happen,” without providing further details.
In the context of the negotiations, an informed official reported on Monday that Iranian negotiators left the Doha talks on Sunday, but their departure was not due to difficulties in the negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement to end the US-Israeli war on Iran.
The official added that a draft proposal is currently being circulated to obtain feedback on it, pointing to the possibility of holding a meeting to follow up on the consultations.
The ongoing talks between Iran and Qatari mediators address a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days of reaching a potential agreement with the United States, amid growing concerns of a renewed conflict following the US congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that the ongoing talks with Qatari officials are witnessing progress and aim to continue consultations with mediators, affirming Tehran’s readiness “for both defense and diplomacy alike.”
