Prince Hassan: Limited Resources Motivate Jordanians to Create and Achieve, and Knowledge and Innovation Are Among Countries’ Most Important Resources

Al-Taj News – His Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal, Honorary President of the Al-Hassan Youth Award, stressed the importance of empowering and preparing young people to become responsible leaders capable of contributing to building their communities, noting that investing in people through education, work, and service forms the foundation for achieving sustainable development and preserving human dignity.

This came during His Highness’s meeting today, Sunday, with male and female participants in the 2026 Al-Hassan Trek Program, held at Al-Karama Hall in the Greater Madaba Municipality, in the presence of a number of officials and those in charge of the program.

His Highness the Prince said that holding the meeting at the Madaba Municipality carries significance related to the concept of institutional, service, and urban development, stressing that municipal work constitutes a fundamental pillar in serving local communities, and that the role of young people goes beyond benefiting from services to actively participating in developing their cities through entrepreneurial ideas, volunteer work, and community initiatives.

His Highness stressed the importance of national industry as a pillar of self-reliance and economic growth, calling on young people to engage in productive sectors and employ technology, automation, and artificial intelligence to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products and open new horizons and markets.

His Highness the Prince also called for fostering creative thinking and turning the challenges facing Jordan into opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in the fields of water, energy, agriculture, services, education, and logistics, stressing that limited resources have always been a motivation for Jordanians to create and achieve, and that knowledge and innovation have become among the most important resources of countries in the modern era.

His Highness spoke about the importance of the Multidimensional Deprivation Index in forming a more comprehensive picture of the realities and needs of communities by considering the various dimensions of deprivation and not relying solely on income indicators.

His Highness the Prince stressed the importance of using accurate data and knowledge to identify priorities and formulate development policies in a way that ensures resources and services reach the groups and areas most in need.

For her part, Dr. Khawla Al-Hassan, Director of the Al-Hassan Youth Award in Jordan, said that the 2026 Al-Hassan Trek is a continuation of the program’s journey, which was launched in 1991 under the patronage and support of His Highness Prince Hassan, with the aim of empowering young people and enhancing their leadership and entrepreneurial role in serving the nation and society.
