King’s Deputy, Crown Prince Extends Condolences to Families of Conscripts Killed in Bus Accident

Al-Taj News – His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince and Deputy of His Majesty the King, on Wednesday extended his condolences to the families of those who died in the bus accident involving conscripts serving national service on the Desert Highway, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

This came during His Royal Highness’s chairing of part of a Cabinet session to follow up on a number of files and issues related to vital sectors.

The Crown Prince also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of members of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army and the security agencies in maintaining the security and safety of citizens.

The civilian bus, which was carrying a number of conscripts serving national service as they were returning to their places of residence in the southern governorates of the Kingdom, was involved in a collision with a freight vehicle on the Desert Highway in the Al-Abyad area of Karak Governorate.

The accident resulted in the death of a number of conscripts serving national service, in addition to the death of the bus driver, who was a civilian, and the injury of 18 conscripts. The injuries of 16 of them were described as moderate, while the injuries of two were described as serious.

The injured were evacuated and transported to Prince Ali Military Hospital, Karak Government Hospital, and Tafileh Government Hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical care under the supervision of specialized medical teams.
