Real Madrid Secure Big Win Over Rayo Vallecano

Al-Taj News – Real Madrid secured a big 4-1 victory over visiting Rayo Vallecano on Saturday in the fifth round of the Spanish Football League.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice (14th minute from a penalty, 90+1), while Alvaro Carreras (17th) and Jude Bellingham (35th) scored the other goals for the Royal Club. Sergio Camello scored the visitors’ only goal in the 51st minute.

After losing 0-1 to Real Betis last week, Real Madrid bounced back in Europe with a 2-1 victory over Italian side Inter Milan in their opening Champions League match, before returning to winning ways domestically against Rayo Vallecano.

The Royal Club raised its tally to 12 points in second place, level on goal difference with Barcelona, who will visit Levante on Sunday with a chance to extend the gap to three points again.

Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho made several changes to Real Madrid’s lineup following the loss to Betis, most notably handing Ivorian Yan Diomande his first start.

Mourinho also brought German Antonio Rudiger and Carreras into the starting lineup in place of Dean Huijsen and Marc Cucurella, while his compatriot Bernardo Silva was also included in the starting eleven.
